These mookaite beads are imbued with the wild nature of that landscape, browns and greens broken up by fiery red. Sometimes the mookaite stone is wrongly classified as a chalcedony, opalite, or chert, and its name, mookaite, comes from the Mooka area where it is most often found. The name mookaite is an unofficial term for radiolarite found in the Mooka area of western Australia.
