Orcas are absolutely magnificent, cunning, playful, dangerous and intelligent. I wanted this painting to be subtle and the water to look deep, calm, and cold. In preparation for my journey into the arctic next year, it seemed only fit to use the colours and dim lighting of the Arctics winter twilight
