Western Red Cedar and Myrtle Three Piece Neck (GI26) mandolin 18 x 8 1/4 xMany luthiers use multi piece necks for added strength and appearance. When glued the neck is very stable. Many of the neck woods are recovered from the salvage of old growth trees with growth ring counts from 35 to 50 rings per inch. There are three pieces yielding 2 7 8 x 3 5 8 x 23 3 8 when glued together. This is made up from two book matched pieces of Western Red Cedar 1. 3 x 3 5 8 x 23 3 8 and one piece of Myrtle 0. 24 x 3 5 8 x 23 3 8. Photos
