I always felt like the church taught me to despise myself because I was guilty & bad for merely existing

So I'd smile to hide my pain and anger

But eventually I got tired of being abused

convincing me that my continued suffering was somehow my own fault

they always turned it back around and blamed me for my lack of healing- telling me there was something wrong within me blocking my healing
