The badge is the post 1953 Queen's Crown Pattern (QEII) and is struck in a white metal finish with a crisp, central frosted numeral "2" inset against an oval band reading "Queens Own Rifles of Canada". The entire insignia is superimposed over a highly detailed Canadian maple leaf. The lower scroll is clearly struck with the regiment's traditional Latin motto: "IN PACE PARATUS" (In Peace
