I got the idea to make these horseshoe hinges while visiting some historic early 1800s log cabins in the Great Smokey Mountains of North Carolina

These can be made to specific dimensions if required

I forge the main body out of mild steel with high carbon steel forge welded on the bottom side for the cutting edge

Hand forged decorative door hinges Finish:Oil The blade is about 8"This is a set of three decorative hand forged door hinges. I forge these in a coal forge with hammer at the anvil. I split the end of the hinges by hand with a chisel while the steel is hot. This gives them a unique hand done look that is not present when cut with a band saw.
