Description

produced Mourvedre with off-the-charts aromatic purity and perfect ripeness

reserved expression than is found in the other Schrader 2010s

It was bottled in February 2019

ripe and concentrated

Less obviously sweet today than the 2003 (I might have picked this blind as a classic Bordeaux blend including Petit Verdot and cab franc)

Louis Jadot, Santenay, Clos de Malte, Rouge 2016 Burgundy Rouge produced Mourvedre with off-the-charts aromaticLocated in Santenay, in the southern Cte de Beaune, Clos de Malte is a 17 acres monopole of Louis Jadot that lies at the foot of the Montagne des Troix Croix. It is planted primarily to Pinot Noir on moist soil of limestone and clay, but there is also a small amount of Chardonnay here. In winemaking, the Pinot Noir grapes are fermented in tanks for up to 4 weeks, and then the wine is matured in oak barrels for 12 months before bottling. 92 Points
