Ernest Hemingway has inscribed along the margin "Al Alejandro Saurina muchas recuerdos Ernesto Hemingway". Included with the item is an exceptional letter of provenance from the daughter of the original recipient. The letter attests that the autograph was obtained in 1939 or 1940 by Alejandro Saurina just outside a bar Hemingway frequented "El Floridita" in Cuba.
