This is an exciting blend I really am enjoying
silk fusion
The upside of the harsh climate is that insects and disease associated with them are not a problem
A note about the Nash Island - For those not familiar with this fleece
It's also lovely and easy to spin
New Beginnings (3.6 oz.)- Roly-Poly Batts- 30% Nash Island fleece, merino, silk, rambouillet, bamboo, silk noil, angelina mawata This is an exciting blendA note about the Nash Island For those not familiar with this fleece, here's a post on Mary Jane Mucklestone's blog about a trip there, and a little about the history of the flock. It's not super soft and cottony like cormo, but has a great texture and sheen, more like a long wool, but not as much as, say, mohair. It reminds us most of North Ronaldsay, which also is a seaweed eater : ) Please note that the fleece in these batts is fresh from the farm!
