Its a natural, mineral rich clay composed of dolomite, silica and iron oxide which give it the distinctive red colour. Due to its pronounced drawing power, its best uses are for acne, insect bites, poison ivy or oak, and general skin detox. May be mixed with milder clays such as French green or kaolin clay to soften the effect.
