The butter dishes were designed by the Bauhaus ceramist Werner Burri. Characteristic features are the rectangular, flat saucer, which is somewhat raised at the edges, and the equally rectangular, bowl shaped lid. At five and a half inches tall and nine and a half inches wide, the butter dish is about half as tall as it is wide. Burri solved the
