Well, part of it might be supply-side the increase in demand triggering another round of boxes being printed but my guess is that these losses have more to do with the advent of Pioneer

The card may not be mechanically powerful, but the Whelan artwork ensures it still holds value today

As a best guess they've decided that it's too complicated and not worth the software development cost

This Vanellope would be a great fit in a deck like that, but I'm not suspecting it to be any good, at least not yet
