When short on Auras, Estrid's -1 can create a Mask aura enchantment that can provide any permanent with totem armor, while its ultimate -7 ability mills seven, then putting all enchantments from your graveyard into play, potentially cheating high-impact cards into play
She can immediately end games with a 3-lore quest, or completely dismantle boards full of characters that your opponent needs to keep ready for defense
In red, Champion of the Flame is an obvious choice since it has trample and gets +2/+2 for each Aura and Equipment attached to it, which can add up fast
It's also nice for those who simply want to check out the artwork for cheap
it just spreads the reprints over a larger pool of cards, which means Modern staples in general will decrease in price more slowly because they aren't being reprinted quite as often, with more Legacy, Commander, and perhaps eventually Pauper staples picking up the slack), it does make the current pace of reprintings viable for a bit longer, which buys Wizards some time to figure out what its next move will be in terms of creating more equity (with this week's announcement bridging the gap to the Modern 2.0 / Fronter-like format that is rumored to be coming with Magic Arena in a few years)
