I liked artifact tokens and the space they opened up in the game, as with Clue tokens and Treasure tokens, but organic materials didnt feel artifact-y to me, which is likely because Im a Magic boomer who came to the game with brown-framed artifacts like Mox Emerald and Ankh of Mishra

Both reveal hand and lock effects aren't very handy, so it's a nice bonus to consider
Of courseif you get this late and have more lands than your opponent it basically does nothing and that is a significant downside Giving yourself hexproof almost never matters in Limited You can use this to sort of give you more life to work with, but the main problem with that is that if youre dropping to 0 life for some reason and your solution to that problem is Phyrexian Unlife wellyou probably didnt really deal with whatever is about to drop you to 0 life, so youre likely to get poisoned pretty quickly
Being cheap it allows you to dig your way out of a screw with nearly as much gusto as the best blue equivalents
