Seven mana for a 4/4 trampling creature is pretty middling
You need to be able to add more characters to the board and overwhelm them with numbers, so your goal should be to play as many cards as you can and increase your inkwell each turn, at least until turn seven
The cost of Magic packs spiked this year after the introduction of new Play Boosters, which contain more rares and special collectible cards on average than the previous Draft Boosters. At roughly $8 a pack, Modern Horizons 3 is nearly as expensive as Commander Masters, a 2023 product that drew criticism for its high cost
Commander's Sphere is also widely popular for similar reasons: You ramp and fix mana with this rock, and draw a card when needed (for 0 mana, even if tapped out!)
