In my view, the only real downside is the fact that it requires a lot of Darkness type energies to work so if you really want to make the most out of it, you will probably need to renounce your capture energies and change your energy count (you can always check this video we did for more details)
Its difficult to say how much these cards will go up in price, but for examples like the Pikachu Illustrator and First Edition Charizard cards, sales in the past few years have been much higher than say 5 or 10 years ago, cementing these cards place in Pokemon lore and making them highly sought-after collectors items
Regarding the effect, it's a shame that it doesn't work against Link Monster, which was already available when this card was released
