Great cards dont always find great homes
If The Darkness Crystal leaves the battlefield at the same time as one or more nontoken creatures an opponent controls would die, those creature cards will be exiled and you'll gain 2 life for each of them
And it treats those new players as such with respect, not dumbing down the cards or watering down the gameplay. Lewis refers to the concept that every MTG set is a game unto itself that has been designed to play certain formats - Draft, Sealed, etc
But the real draw is that whenever one or more nonland cards are milled, you get to put that many +1/+1 counters on up to X creatures--meaning every little mill trigger turns into a scaling army buff
While this may not add much to the cards price, its nevertheless notable
The card game features a selection of 200 cards split into six different types of ink, each reflecting a certain kind of gameplay approach, with every card also being part of one of three main types: characters, items and songs
