Large Granulated Silver Hirz Prayer Amulet from Yemen - Rita Okrent Collection (P757) Ancient Circa mid 1900'sLarge Yemeni silver Hirz prayer amulet with three top bails. Circa early to mid 1900's. Weighs 83 grams. Measures 3. 9 inches 10 cm lengthwise, and 36 mm top to bottom including bails. This amulet no longer opens, but would have contained a quote or verse from the Koran. Likely to have been an element in a traditional wedding necklace or dowry. Wonderful workmanship and excellent condition a very special piece. Pendant Item 757
