It has an aged, brown patina but could be burnished to a shine. The cheeks are stamped "Adonis", "Nickel Silver", "Facer" and "Spalding". Harry Facer was a harness maker, I have found an image of his shop on the London Road in Spalding, dated 1906. The straight bar mouthpiece is half twisted or reversible.
