These are gilt brass spurs with steel inserts which would fit into "boxes" in the heel of the boot

It has a silver coloured metal cap and two collars - these are stamped with a possible hallmark or maker's stamp which I cannot read - please look at the images

The other arm is also hallmarked The tongs are "single sprung", which means that only one arm moves. The end of each arm ends in a silver button. The inner surface of each arm end has cross hatched engraving to help grip The neck of the spur has a bulbous ends which holds a small
