You can make up for the multi-piece combo by utilizing the many tutors available in black and green and things like Gamble in red
Then add on how many key creatures in the format are fliers: Ledger Shredder (and almost all the other creatures in Phoenix), the demons, Slickshot, Aven Interupter and more
Play itself is supremely satisfying: creatures take a run-up before doing damage, and the resulting battle sound effects give me a proper kick of power-lust when I smash pain into my opponents, plus a genuine sense of despair when they retaliate
