The card's effect is very unorthodox and any parameters appear to be intentionally ambiguous

I dont think the combo will ever be more than fringe playable, though, and actual demand for this card has always felt softer to me than the price would indicate

I still have fat pack boxes from Morningtide and Lorwyn , and the novels too

The added-on Peek is not worth the extra mana, but Im sure I would pay two mana for actual Pithing Needle pretty often

In the short term, it may get outshined by Lullmages Domination in a similar role, but that depends largely on whether decks like this are looking for the effect or if Soaring Thought-Thief is still looking for a Control Magic
