In terms of multi-format impact, he may just be the most broken modern Magic card ever printed, creating a very reasonable case for expanding the Power Nine to a Power Ten

Consequently, the card is a huge financial hit across all of its printings

And over time, it can animate itself into a creature with annihilator, so your opponents are encouraged to burn removal on it somehow

Some of this is my preference for this color pair, but theres also a solid list of fine options for most any environment
