I did end up winning the first Qualifier of the season with Mono Red as well over the past weekend, but I dont think my particular decklist was interesting, so instead in todays article I will be breaking down the card choices for the archetype based on my experiences, and then Ive got my take on how to build each of the three main Mono Red variants in the format right now Burn, Wizards and Devotion
The Simic build uses the Cauldron to exile Sleep-Cursed Faerie, putting counters onto Kami of Whispered Hopes, which then taps and untaps to add infinite mana
Personally, I see commander as a world of boardwipes, where equipment lay on the battlefield after wrath after wrath after wrath, so the idea that this sets up your first creature to equip to cheaply making her more of a hopeful Sigardas Aid than anything else
The more complex the interface becomes, the weaker the card maker becomes in my opinionunless it offers some wild power to go with it
A red card that clones creatures
Typically, it easily lasts one, two, and often three turns whilst weakening the opponent
