At the start of every turn, players place all cards back in the ready position, set any played characters (which are moved to a different row) back with the items and other characters, and then draw the top card from the deck to add to your hand (the player going first does not do this part on the first turn)
Filtering also means cards you dont want in certain matchups can be pushed away from being drawn
