Their exchange reveals that the two have some past history Simon previously demonstrated to Seto how the two sets of Rose Cards function when their powers are combined (presumably giving Seto the idea to attempt the Rose Summoning in the first place) and they last crossed paths at the Battle of Barnet in 1471
I think that's just about it for suggestions, maybe consider Spell Pierce , Stubborn Denial , and Fire Covenant , but overall, great primer, very well-written, and I think you'll set people in the right direction when it comes to building Marchesa.
