It removes variance in a way few black spells MTG has printed ever have
The cards are too expensive for Wizards to put them in a Commander precon, but they'll likely want to increase supply before Lost Caverns of Ixalan releases, which makes Commander Masters a pretty obviously landing spot
Unfortunately while their card effect is cool (I love rad counters so much rub them into my chromosomes), it doesn't have a lot to do with their in game behaviour and that's a shame
