Anything you get to usefully spend mana on later in the game for free (or just the cost of not having a coloured mana earlier at some point) will give you a vastly improved late game

The era had a clean, modernized look and pushed toward more strategic, competitive decks while spotlighting Sinnohs legendaries and evolved starters throughout its run

Note that an effect that allows a creature to "attack as though it didn't have defender" doesn't actually cause it to lose defender
