+2: You gain 3 life and draw a card
Printed in 1993s Alpha set, this card was a beast in its time, offering aggressive white decks, an efficient and hard-hitting creature right from turn one
Its the kind of acceleration that aggressive shells and decks built around the best vampire commanders use to land engines or pressure before the table is ready
Your creatures become so big that trample is often better than flying anyway, and the fact that this one isnt instant is not that relevant as you dont have to choose a target for it, so you dont need to use it as a combat trick
The flexibility alone is very good, but what pushes it over the edge is that its mana value will always be two, even when you overload it
Since there are plenty of ways to get lands from your library for Gond Gate to use to its benefit, it is easy to get value, and it is an excellent way to make Gate land-focused decks stronger
