This role is well reflected in the new Lorcana card Kida, Protector of Atlantis, which is a fantastic card to play if you want to protect your amber ink armies of weaker characters
I suspect they will be decent, but nowhere near as good as Learn/Lesson
Unfortunately it can only get a basic Plains to hand
It introduces the monarch, which draws you plenty of cards and replaces itself, but it also creates 1/1 and 4/4 flying tokens
Rather than directly countering a spell, these tax effects force opponents to spend extra mana, slowing down their curve and disrupting their strategy
