While it won't beat Psychic decks, it isn't impossible for this deck to take games off of other decks
If any opponent plays around the counterspell you were holding up and you have nothing else to do, youve wasted your mana for the turn
Meaning if you drew a good monster off of Saryuja Skull Dread, you can instantly bring it out on the field, without going through the effort of normal/special summoning
Giving your opponent multiple payment plans for the ward cost isn't great, but the Unagi looks like a great control threat: An Ambush Viper that's annoying to kill and can draw cards works in many situations and generally gets some value before it eats a removal spell
