At the time of writing, Monument to Endurance is seeing most of its play in Pioneer as discard hate in the sideboard, but also sees some Duel Commander play

There are better Amethyst/Ruby lists out there, but these decks are designed to focus on and elevate the things that already work in the original starter deck

your opponents are unlikely to block a 3/3 that puts four or five lands into play

It also draws you cards if one of your opponents casts their second spell that turn, which is cool and quite strong, but also out of your control
