The Water Crystal is a bit clunky, and its activated ability costs a lot of mana to use
The activated ability is a reliable way to force discarding, yet the ability to repeatedly cause discards is underrated
Of course, there are stories of this thing completely changing the game, but in general, there is usually enough enchantment removal floating around that most of the time this will probably do nothing (expect possibly draw out that enchantment removal, but you dont usually want to approach the game like that, especially in multiplayer)
Conversely, replacement effects that apply to the number of counters put on a player can modify the counters placed this way
