Wilfred Wilmot Heasler was born in Toronto, Ontario and was living in Gananoque, Ontario when he joined the 156th Battalion of the Canadian Expeditionary Force. Transferred to the 38th (Ottawa) Battalion in England, he proceeded to France in May, 1917. Heasler was wounded in March, 1918 (SW arm), convalesced in England and ultimately received his discharge in Canada in
