From the Publisher Parade is the first of Six Characteristic Pieces. Op. 46 for Double Bass and Piano composed by French composer Emile Ratez. He was a graduate of the Paris Conservatory and became Director of the Lille Conservatory in 1881. This movement is an excellent review of basic fingering and tone production for the intermediate level bassist.
