You can run it with a primary cover but some modification to either the shifter or cover may be necessary for clearance. The shift knob threads are 3 8" 24 and pair perfectly with one of prism knobs (not included) Short arm length from the top of the plate to the top of the shift knob threads is 4. 75" (5 8" of shift knob threads).
