Antique Tea Caddy Lead Lined Victorian Tea Storage vintage Patons wool sign They depict “Jeune Grec” (youngA repousse brass paneled tea caddy dating from the 1800s featuring a ship under sail and floral motifs. As tea was an expensive, luxury commodity, it was customary in the 19th century to line the interior with lead, in order to keep the precious leaf fresh and dry. This caddy is in good antique condition with some replacement pins in the lid. The brass is beautifully aged, but could be polished if desired. Measures 10. 7x10. 7x14cm I ship
