Pink Blossom by Judy Head Gillian Brett while the vibrant magenta accentsAs I cycled to Thames side Studios in the spring of 2025, I came across a tree with stunning pink blossoms on smooth, bare branches. This was cherry blossom, and the buds were emerging just before the copper coloured leaves emerged . When the blossoms fell, the leaves grew to their full size, followed by a mass of deep burgundy coloured cherries. I paint use the traditional Japanese brushes with black Sumi and coloured mineral inks on Washi paper,
