The main Commander, Aminatou, the Fateshifter, deserves praise for its interesting and (at the time) revolutionary +1 ability that even stumped some of the more advanced deck brewers when it came to theory-crafting
Its better to enjoy Magic by focusing on the parts one loves rather than disdaining cards which least hold ones interest (and public disparagement can hurt or discourage the people such cards are meant for)
All of the cards in these new scene boxes are brand new, mechanically unique cards
But the problem ends up being that these newer card decks are neither faster or more consistent than the current iteration of our combo decks.Ad Nauseam often draws anywhere between twenty to twenty-five cards from a life-total above seventeen in The EPIC Storm and in Ad Nauseam Tendrils, anywhere between ten to twelve cards
It sets a much lower bar to win the game than Happily Ever After, but it would be foolish not to run it as a backup plan
They also cant be countered by counterspells that say counter target spell. But some counterspells are capable of countering them, like Voidslime or Disallow since they specifically name activated abilities as something they can counter
